Service Description
Gaynor Lee's 6-hour moving and handling course includes the following components, tailored to meet local regulations and best practices. The service length is 8-hours in total with 6-hours of training and 2-hours of breaks, with certificates provided within 24-hours. Legal Framework: ◈ Overview of relevant legislation (e.g., Health and Safety at Work Act, Manual Handling Operations Regulations). ◈ Responsibilities of employers and employees. Risk Assessment: ◈ How to conduct a risk assessment specific to moving and handling tasks. ◈ Identifying hazards and evaluating risks in different environments. Anatomy and Physiology: ◈ Basic understanding of how the body moves and the impact of manual handling on the musculoskeletal system. Safe Moving and Handling Techniques: ◈ Demonstration of correct lifting techniques. ◈ Use of aids and equipment (e.g., hoists, slide sheets). ◈ Techniques for assisting individuals with mobility challenges.
